A glimpse into the Brazilian dub of Spider-Man: No Way Home seems to have confirmed the existence of Miles Morales in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and his closer connection to Peter Parker than previously realized. Take a look at it!
For some time, there have been murmurs about the inclusion of Miles Morales in the MCU, and a scene in Spider-Man: Homecoming laid the groundwork for his eventual introduction.
In that scene, Aaron Davis, played by Donald Glover, expressed his concern about keeping weapons off the streets for the sake of his nephew. Comic book enthusiasts will recognize that he was referring to Miles. However, it’s unfortunate that Marvel Studios never revisited the idea of Aaron utilizing that technology to become the Prowler.
Of course, there is always the possibility of exploring this in future movies, and the Brazilian Portuguese dub of Spider-Man: No Way Home might just confirm Miles’ presence in this shared universe.
Similar to the version of the movie seen by the rest of us, voices can be heard in the background as Peter Parker familiarizes himself with his new apartment. Nevertheless, the subtitles in this particular version mention “Rio” and “Jeff” telling “Miles” to tidy his room before going to bed.
While it’s possible that someone unofficially inserted these Easter Eggs into the movie, we do hear characters, presumably Rio Morales and Jefferson Davis, uttering the name “Miles.”
It is plausible that the dubbing team was working from Spider-Man: No Way Home’s screenplay. Additionally, rumors have previously hinted that Miles will be Peter’s neighbor in Spider-Man 4.
Marvel Studios could develop a friendship between the two before Morales acquires his own abilities and ultimately becomes Spider-Man’s protege, leading to a permanent passing of the mantle.
Tom Holland has expressed his desire to move on from the role, stating on multiple occasions that this would be an ideal way to do so. Therefore, it would be quite enjoyable to witness the next trilogy laying the groundwork for Miles to become the new Spider-Man in the MCU.
