Denise Russo, a well-known reality TV personality famous for her appearance on VH1’s “The X-Life,” has died at the age of 44 from undisclosed reasons.
Law enforcement officers informed TMZ that she was discovered unresponsive on the floor of her friend’s apartment in San Diego on Sunday. Despite efforts to revive her, she was pronounced dead soon after.
The cause of her death remains unclear, but drug paraphernalia was found at the scene. According to her friend and former “X-Life” castmate Susie Stenberg, Russo had been living in her car at the time of her death and had contacted Stenberg the night before to express her love for her.
An investigation into her death is ongoing, as stated by the San Diego PD. Russo was one of the three couples featured on “The X-Life,” which aired in 2011 and followed the lives of extreme sports athletes and their partners.
Russo was dating professional skateboarder Pierre-Luc Gagnon at the time, with whom she had a son, but they had reportedly parted ways before her death. Russo frequently posted photos of herself on Instagram, with her last post being just days before her death.
Fans and friends have expressed their grief and sorrow at her passing, with one mourner writing, “My angel. I’m sorry for all your pain, be at peace now,”
while another wrote,
“I don’t understand. So beautiful. But battling all those demons. Had to be awful. No more living in your car. No more using.”
