when is spider-man across the spider-verse coming out
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is the first part of a two-part sequel to the award-winning 2018 film, Into the Spider-Verse, and is set to release in theaters on June 2.
Cast of Spider-Verse-
Directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Justin K. Thompson, and Kemp Powers, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is written by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Dave Callaham, with Lord, Miller, Avi Arad, Amy Pascal, and Christina Steinberg producing. The film’s executive producers are Peter Ramsey, Bob Persichetti, Aditya Sood, Rodney Rothman, Rebecca Karch, and Brian Bendis.
What we know so far-
As we saw in the first movie, Miles Morales is a young Spider-Man who is still mastering his powers. But this time, he’s got to deal with more than just his own struggles as a hero. In the new trailer, we see Miles encountering The Spot, a villain whose body is covered in inter-dimensional portals. And that’s just the beginning.
Gwen Stacy, a.k.a. Spider-Gwen, takes Miles to a building that’s reminiscent of Citadel of Ricks and introduces him to several new Spider-people. The preview provides a glimpse of some of the new characters we’ll meet, including Issa Rae as Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman, Daniel Kaluuya as Hobart “Hobie” Brown/Spider-Punk, and Oscar Isaac’s character, Miguel O’Hara/Spider-Man 2099. But it’s not just the new characters that have fans buzzing.
Classic Spiderman Meme pointing-
The film also features the popular Spider-Man pointing meme, given the vast number of Spider-people that’ll be crossing paths. And we get a more in-depth look at the clash between Miles and Miguel O’Hara, who challenges Miles’ morals and ethics.
Returning voice cast members include Shameik Moore as Miles Morales, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy/Spider-Gwen, Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker, Luna Lauren Vélez as Rio Morales, and Brian Tyree Henry as Jefferson Davis. The all-star ensemble includes Rachel Dratch, Jorma Taccone, Shea Whigham, and Jason Schwartzman.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is shaping up to be an epic adventure that’ll transport Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man across the Multiverse to join forces with Gwen Stacy and a new team of Spider-People to face off with a villain more powerful than anything they have ever encountered. This is one movie you won’t want to miss.
Spiderman 2099 Vs Miles Morales-
The world of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is shrouded in mystery and intrigue, with fans eagerly anticipating every scrap of information they can get their hands on. But perhaps the biggest question on everyone’s minds is why Miles Morales and Spider-Man 2099 are facing off against each other.
Could it be some sort of initial drama, a minor tiff before they team up to face an even greater threat? Or is there something more sinister at play, some hidden motive driving Miguel O’Hara to clash with his fellow Spider-Person?
Plot of the movie-
As for the plot of the movie, details have been scarce, with only a tantalizingly vague synopsis released: “Miles Morales returns for an epic adventure that will transport Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man across the Multiverse to join forces with Gwen Stacy and a new team of Spider-People to face off with a villain more powerful than anything they have ever encountered.”
But the real twist in this story is that the movie won’t even tell the full story – it’s been confirmed to be a two-part event. And according to the film’s producers, Christopher Miller and Phil Lord, “Miles’ story is an epic. We wrote what we thought the story needed to be, and to our surprise, we realised it was two movies instead of one.”
What other surprises await fans in the Spider-Verse? Will Miles and Miguel be able to put their differences aside and unite against a common enemy? And just what is the true nature of the threat they will face? The only way to find out is to join them on their journey Across the Spider-Verse.
